Week 5: Beginning of Fall Ball

 The past week here in Ada has not been too eventful for me, with the exception of fall lacrosse practice getting underway on Tuesday. It was great to get back out there early in the morning with the team and compete together again. The freshmen still have some work to do, but the team seems to be coming together well at the moment. 

Outside of this, my other major highlight for the week was touring some houses around town with my roommates for next year. Finding ourselves late to the game, it has been a struggle to find great housing. We've toured everthing from two person apartments to five person home, but we ultimately found a house on Lehr Street that we're signing for shortly after I finish writing this. 

As slow as this past week has been, the upcoming weekend will be doubly busy, as my family is coming down from New York for the Alumni Game this Friday night. My sister is also taking her visit to ONU over the weekend, and I couldn't be more excited!

    The passion you have about your sport will surely help you with your housing stress. Perhaps the freshmen could use your help? Deciding on housing on campus is stressful enough that I cannot imagine considering living at an actual house. I wonder how that process is done. I have seen lots of students posting on the ONU app about asking for roommates of certain years at the university. I am jealous that you feel that your week has been slow and that your family is coming to visit you.

 Having recently joined Twitter, this chapter was the most interesting to me thusfar, as it was filled with tips that can help me personally use the app. Furthermore, the company I oresently do work for has a large presence on the platform, so I spend a decent bit of my time working on Twitter postings. Typically I make evergreen content, but occasionally I'm able to make more broad posts about. Depending less upon photo content, the Components of a Tweet section caught my eye. Week 10: Live Tweets from Columbus!

 On Tuesday, I had the wonderful opportunity to head down to Columbus to live tweet from a game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Arizona Coyotes. Making it in just before puck drop, we got to our seats and settled into our seats in the upper bowl. Playing the puck more efficiently in the first period, Arizona broke away to a 2-0 lead. This ultimately swelled to five before the Jackets were able to get on the board, as their offensive entry was sluggish. They often tried to carry the puck into the zone, resulting in stalled attacks and poor shots. Midway through the game Columbus changed goalies, but did not find themselves in any better position. Ultimately, the game finished 6-3, and the dozens of Coyotes fans in attendance went home happy. Throughout the game I sent out tweets highlighting the goals and ends of periods, allowing fans not able to watch the game to keep up. Week 13: Tournament Tilts and Winter Weather

 The past week has been a fun one in Ada, as winter has begun to set in. Towards the end of last week rumors of snow started flying around, creating a lot of buzz on campus. Starting on Friday, I am pretty confident I have seen snow in the air every day since. Over the weekend I had the opportunity to man the concession stand at a variety of games over the two days, mostly the NCAA Men's Soccer tournament that was in town. On a pair of cold and snowy days, the entire team showed out to provide hot chocolate, hot dogs, and more to the huddled masses. Ultimately men's soccer won both of their games on PK's, advancing to the next round, and football won their season finale as well. Outside of this, my week has been filled with preparations for thanksgiving break. Getting the apartment ready to leave has been more of a task than I thought, as I am largely tackling it alone.
